I am so excited to present this breathtaking solid 18k pink gold Breitling Chronomat.
It all started in 1940 when the Breitling Chronomat applied for a patent for the circular slide rule to be used in conjunction with the chronograph. Once it was granted in 1941, the Breitling Chronomat became official. It had so much more to offer than many watches from WWII, it had a mind-boggling amount of technology and engineering. This allowed mathematical problems to be solved at a glance, it allowed complex calculations with the turn of your fingers, or you suddenly had the ability to measure the average speed in a heartbeat. If this doesn't get your heart racing, I wonder what will ツ Besides being very useful in various professions such as engineers, drivers and doctors, here are a few famous names that owned and wore a vintage Breitling Chronomat: Miles Davis, Jerry Seinfeld, Graham Hill, and Jim Clark. Who wouldn't want to be on that list?
The case with ref. 769 is created in a luscious solid pink/rose 18k gold. The case looks amazing, it is still sharpish to the touch, not worn down or over polished. The original dial has aged beautifully. The 217012 number you see on the dial is actually the brands patent number. The hands are blued steel and in superb condition with nicely aged lume. The crown is original to the watch, and without the 'B' logo. Ticking away the time inside you will find the Venus 175 caliber. The Venus 175 caliber movement is a trustworthy frequently used manual-wind chronograph with a pillar wheel mechanism.
Believe it or not, but there is a small manual that you can download to help you understand all the functions, such as reading the scale and evaluating numbers. The manual provides practical info on how to use the scale properly.
