In 1923 watchmakers Luthy and Bernheim joint venture and founded the Timor Watch Company in Jura, Switzerland. Within a year they expanded to Europe and overseas becoming immensely popular in France, Germany and the UK. The Timor watch Company carried out thorough inspections and tests on each and every watch that left the factory, they even received the nickname:
'Trust Timor, It's Tested'.
They were also the first brand to produce watches with braille for the blind with a hinged cover, in 1931. When the WWII broke out, they created a whole new military watch, for the British troops that could endure the battlefields.
The watch at hand is an alarm watch, not that it will wake the neighbors mind you, it has a rather soft sound, but for the light sleeper in would be perfect. It looks like it’s NOS but it does have some minor drawer snuffle signs. The case is gold filled with a stainless steel back. The AS 1475 caliber movement was launched in 1954, though I suspect the watch dates from the late 1950’s, the dial is spotless, as are the hands and indexes.
It's a fun handsome looking watch, check out the details in our webstore.
