In the year 1888 the Roamer watch story begun thanks to the skillful and visionary qualities of the watchmaker Frits Meyer. His goal was to produce reliable, affordable, fine looking Swiss watches. It all started with watch parts, then complete watch movements, and in by 1895 he started producing complete Roamer watches, using dials and cases made elsewhere.
Within a short period time Roamer became a well-known name far beyond Switzerland and the factory went from a hand full of staff members to 300. In 1923 it was estimated that Roamer was producing a whooping one million units a year.
Before long Roamer started producing their own cases and dials, this way they could control the overall quality, which was superb by the way.
The Roamer brand as we all know it nowadays began in 1952 when the Roamer originals rolled of the production line. By then the factory had 1200 workers totally devoted to the engineering of Roamer masterpieces.
This freshly cleaned and tuned Roamer gives you pretty much everything you need: time, seconds, date, and no need to wind it on a daily basis and all this high-quality technology is packaged in a fine, elegant gold filled case with stainless steel back.
