I must admit I have a soft spot when it comes to Mido, not only the watches are spectacular, but their symbol ‘Robi’ the robot sets Mido aside from all the other watch brands, it’s fun and futuristic. Anyone who has the slightest knowledge of the Mido brand recognizes the Robi robot. The Robi the robot trademark that is never out of date. Mind you there has been a brand trying to copy the robot trademark, and looking freakishly the same, but copycats can never compare to the real Robi.
The case is without a doubt a FB - François Borgel though not signed, for some unknown reason Mido didn’t sign their cases with the FB logo. FB cases is always a plus. The original crown is the unmistakable mushroom shape from Mido.
But there are occasions when even the specialist is slightly puzzled, the movement is a bit of a mystery. It is clearly shown in the manual, yet the exact details regarding the description are lacking. It is a large Ligne Mido bumper automatic 12’’’. Ligne is a French word derived from line, it is a size measure for Swiss movements, a Swiss unit equal to 0.0802 inch. We do know for sure that the basis of the movement at hand is definitely caliber AS 1034.
The movement is stunning and in impeccable condition.
The dial is two toned and very easy to read the time at a glance, especially if your eyesight isn’t what it used to be. The watch hands are blued steel.
We added a classic Jaguar green color recycled Appel Fiber animal/nature-friendly strap.
The Mido has been freshly serviced and is sold with 1 year warranty, but even after this period will be happy to help you.
