New is our web store is this 1960’s IWC with automatic movement and date.
The IWC is powered by the Albert Pellaton designed high grade Swiss automatic movement caliber 8541. IWC had developed the 85 movements over a period of 15 years and the undeniable icing on the cake is the Pellaton winding system, which offers the ultimate in winding efficiency, highest shock resistance, durability and exceptional reliability.
Fun details: according to Wristwatches Armbanduhren Montres-bracelets by Gisbert Brunner and Christian Pfeiffer-Belli the IWC automatic 8541caliber is "one of the best automatic movements ever built in Switzerland”. And the famous watchmaker Donald de Carle stated in his book Complicated Watches and their Repair, that IWC's special automatic winding mechanism is " a simple ingenious system, well-constructed and beautifully finished".
Movement wise it doesn’t get much better than this.
The solid stainless steel case is untouched, it has a few minuscule flea bites here and there, nothing worth mentioning, just what you would expect from a 60 plus year old watch worn with care. The original dial has a sanded silver color with raised sleek glossy gold indexes and IWC logo. The movement has been freshly cleaned, oiled and tuned, and as with all our watches the IWC is sold with a one year warranty. To give the IWC a more casual appearance we've added a soft canvas strap, which feels so nice you'll almost forget you're wearing a watch.
