The Tri-Compax was Universal Genève ‘crown’ achievement. The complexity of this topnotch wristwatch with moonphase, calendar (day, date, month) and chronograph must have been jaw dropping especially in those days.
These technical wonders (several Compax models came out before the Tri-Compax) could provide an abundance of information within a glance. This did not go unseen for long, and news spread quickly. Within no time they became a success amongst European elite, heck even the Dutch Royalty got wind of these master timepieces, and placed a large order for the Dutch military in 1939, this was several years before the launch of the Tri-Compax which was introduced on the 50-year anniversary of the Universal, in 1944.
Even President Harry Truman owned a Tri-Compax, be it a 18k gold one of course (good taste, though I personally would prefer stainless steel).
We are giving you the chance to own a all original ‘crown’, well in actuality a jumbo size crown, as this is a whooping 37mm stainless steel case. Original Swiss movement and dial, though I suspect there will be no questions regarding its originality this time round 😉.
Freshly serviced, timed and tuned, and sold with one-year warranty.
The band size (lug width) is 19mm, but a soft 20mm fits fine, we added an animal friendly, padded Artificial Leather strap in the color powder blue, the dark beige thread and blue match the dial and blued steel hands nicely in our humble option.
