Ø ca. 38 mm (width)
Did you know that the Spaceview model wasn’t actually made for the general public, it was especially made for Bulova watch dealers to use as a window display, it was made transparent so that customers could view the tuning fork movement?
17 years straight Bulova produced the tuning fork watches till 1977 when the market was getting overloaded with battery operated watches; quartz. Bulova rolled out the last space view in 1977. Bulova Accutron Spaceview deserves a place as one of the most amazing inventions of the history of watches from the 20th century.
Pictured here is the Swiss iconic Spaceview T, case style 770, with Accutron Tuning Fork caliber 214, Forchet hour/minute hands and orange sweep second. This model was considered an exception because there was a USA and a Swiss version. The case is a jumbo size 42 mm from lug to lug and 38 plus mm in width, it has a fine brushed surface interrupted with a shiny polished edge. Freshly serviced and humming like a true tuning fork should.
