This Longines watch dates back to the 1940's. The case is a 33mm plus size to be exact 33.3mm, but who’s counting . The original crown is relatively big and bulky, but it suits the watch, and gives you a fine grip while winding. Of course, the case has some minor scuffs and scratches as you would expect from a watch of this age, but nothing worth mentioning. Yes, it is a real ‘Sei tacche’, which simply means six notches, not uncommon, or rare but for some unexplainable reason, very special for some. In actuality, the ‘Tre tacche’ case backs are less common, but who cares, it’s purely a means to open and close a watch case, apologies for my sarcasm.

Powering this beauty is the renowned Longines 12.68N caliber, which was and still is well-known for its reliability and robustness and can therefore also be found in military watches from this era.

The sun-kissed dial is original. The hands are blued-steel and as the numerals and dots filled with lume which has aged nicely.

What’s not to love about these kinds of very wearable no-nonsense watches, with durable stainless steel cases, yes, they have some signs of wear but that actually gives them more character, wouldn’t you say. There was a time (not so long ago) when watches needed to look picture perfect, even with their grand old ages, but luckily the times have changed and the majority prefers the original vintage look with all its short comings/characteristics. ‘Original rules'
