This lovely Certina Labora wristwatch dates from the late 1940's. At first glance it looks very similar to a military watch, with its matt-black dial and rather large crown. However military watches were less frequently made in stainless steel casings.
Not quite sure what the ‘Lobora’ stands for in regards to the Certina brand, though it does mean ‘work'.
I just found a Swiss watch advertisement from the mid 1940's with a Certina Labora watch which reads, "la montre pour l'homme actif" meaning: The watch for the active man.
It can't get much clearer than this, I guess.
The ‘work’ watch is up for grabs as of today.
And as with all our watches the movement has received a total overhaul in our atelier, we offer one-year guarantee on all our watches. But even after this has expired, we will be more than happy to help you keep your timepiece working smooth and effortless.
