The Breitling ‘Top Time’ Chronograph was introduced in 1964, it was intended to attract the younger generation with it’s out of the box appearance. Willy Breitling (third-generation) stated: "We are sweeping into the field of youth and we are going to speak their language".
To achieve success the 'Top Time' models was made more affordable than its predecessors, and they were offered in an arrange of color schemes. It became a huge hit overnight! Especially the cushion shape design was considered groovy, funky and cool. The Top Time offers you a UPH (units-per-hour)/Tachymeter so you can calculate your average speed while racing, and a Pulsometer scale so you can calculate your heart rate while racing ;o) The silver colored dial has a sunburst pattern that actually continues on to the robust cushion shaped stainless steel case. The sub-dials are deep black and matt, the hour indicators are polished to a high gloss, with a dot of lume. The hour and minute hands are partially matt black and a striking fluorescent orange with a lume stripe down the middle. The serial case number 13466740 indicates its dates from 1970, the reference number is 2211. Inside you will find the Valjoux 7733 which is an utterly reliable and accurate manual wind movement.
We added a NOS stainless steel bracelet, looks cool, don't you think?
The Breitling ‘Top Time’ Chronograph has been freshly serviced and is ready to wear, now all you need is to grow a mustache :o{
