While counting down the days till Christmas, I am SOooo…..thrilled to present the legendary Mido Multi-Centerchrono. Introduced and put in production in the early 1940’s, this was the first chronograph with centralized functions, hence the name ‘Center-chrono’. A ad from back then reads: ‘The only chronograph with centralized control’, this sums it up nicely.  

Many chronograph collectors over the years have failed to recognize the extraordinary features which make Mido Multi-Centerchrono so special, some might be pulling out their hair, if they only knew, what hopefully most know now.
It’s such an elegant chronograph, and is has so many unique aspects, the fact that the functions unlike the ‘normal’ chronograph work from the center, and not through several sub seconds, is the most compelling.

Mido’s original advertising slogan for this model was, ‘Here is the only chronograph that looks like a handsome watch’ clearly emphasizing the clear, calm look of the dial.
The François Borgel case is of a refined and utterly superb quality not surprising that these high end casings were also used by for Patek Philippe and Movado. François Borgel designed the round pushers collectors refer to as ‘Tasti Tondi’, Italian for ‘round buttons’ a unique aspect as well, before then all chronograph pushers were rectangular shaped.
As Patek Philippe used exactly the same pushers, crowns and cases, finding a replacement pusher or crown is practically impossible, or it will cost you an arm and a leg.
The BRIT. PAT. engraved on the inside of the case back stands for British patent registration and the number 385509 is the Swiss patent on François Borgel decagonal case back design. The engraved numbers between the lugs are the last 4 digitals of the full serial number you see on the inside of the case back. The Mido 1300 caliber movement is a modified Valjoux VZ

I'm not exaggerating when I say that the Mido Multi-Centerchrono is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after chronographs.
Every aspect of Mido Multi-Centerchrono is 100 % authentic, wait…except the strap.
