Yet, another faithful tuning fork at your disposal in this case a Bulova Accutron Calendar ‘CK’.
Did you know that the Bulova Accutron has been buried on under the New York World Fair as example for future generations as one of the 44 most innovative mechanisms ever to be invented, it is to remain there for 5000 years from starting from the year 1964.
Another fun bit of info is that not only on the Explorer, but also on the Apollo the crew wore Bulova Accutron watches and they came through with flying colors.
With the calendar window at 6 o’clock, and the large Bulova logo in an unconventional place, plus the cushion shape of the case, combined the round crystal gives this model just that extra oomph. The outer ring of the granite grey dial, has aged into a warm yellow shade, making the contrast rather eye-catching.
The stainless steel case looks amazing as does the dial. The hands have undoubtedly been changed somewhere down the line, but we have chosen to leave it as is.
I’m curious what the ‘CK’ actually stands for, and if I find out, you will be the first to know.
