Bulova bought the Westfield Watch Company in the 1930’s, and used it as a subsidiary brand, under the name “Westfield”. From then on the cases were produced in the USA and assembled with high quality movements from Switzerland. Westfield watches were considered, good quality for affordable prices. Normally the dial, case and movement were signed Westfield, yet there are early exceptions, these cases where made by Providence Watch Case Co. another company the Bulova purchased, and renamed "Providence".
The breathtaking ”Sky King” model from Westfield is slightly curved to fit your wrist like a glove. Not only does it have a lovely shape, it’s in an impeccable condition and the fine engraving along the sides is gorgeous. The dial is original.
Hard to imagine that it dates from the 30’s and is still looking SOo…..good.
The high quality Swiss movement inside is a 6AW caliber which looks very similar to the 6AF with minor differences.
It keeps a steady balance upon the waves, among the seagulls, patiently waiting for the right wave to carry it safely to shore…
