Handsome devil, wouldn’t you agree, and with yet again a IWC watch with the sublime high grade automatic caliber 852.
This movement carries the so-called IWC Pellaton winding system.
The Pellaton automatic winding system was such an ingenious revolutionary construction for its time. It was developed by and named after the technical engineering director of the International Watch Company, Albert Pellaton.
This system was patented in 1946, refined, improved and introduced in 1950 with the IWC caliber 85.
The Pellaton winding system uses pawls instead of direct gearing between the rotor and barrel,
this ensures that the gear train is kept safe from shocks. The IWC Pellaton system is so constructed that both pawls pull simultaneously on the barrel, as a result of the winding system runs more smoothly and much more efficiently. The Pellaton system allowed for a more efficient transmission of energy from the rotor and this reduced the strain on the movement over time, ending in a better and more accurate result.
The IWC at hand is an all original with an untouched case, original fish logo crown, dagger hands, champagne color dial (displays darker then reality in some photo’s).
Movement has been freshly serviced and tuned.
