The Movado watch brand from Switzerland is somewhat undervalued in my opinion, they have made some of the most amazing watches such as the Movado Ermeto, the Curviplan, Valentino, Calendolux, Astrograph, Calendograph, Triple Date Moonphase, etc. etc. I mean, even Winston Churchill wore a Movado triple calendar watch in his time. By 1947 Movado had already received 165 Observatory Awards. And still, Movado didn’t get the attention they deserved. Perhaps that makes Movado even more fascinating.
The watch at hand is a marvelous little gem, that gives you the day and date, hour and minute. The model is called a Calendette, which stands for ladies wristwatch with calendar. The stainless steel fine lined, stepped case is signed FB - François Borgel, it is an exact copy of the larger man’s watch. The Swiss Movado 28 caliber movement, looks similar the caliber 25, only slightly thicker due to the calendar complications.
Except for a total overhaul on the movement, nothing has been altered, we even left the expandable bracelet attached, which is detachable in case you might prefer to changed it.
The outer blue date ring and red arrow pointer give the watch just an extra oomph, wouldn’t you say
