New in our (web)shop is this freshly cleaned, serviced and tuned 1940’s Doxa watch.
An ‘Anti-Magnetique’ watch in this case, and though anti magnetism was being invented as early as half way the 19th century it first arrived on the market in a pocket watch in 1915 made by non-other then Vacheron Constantin.
In those early days it was mainly interesting for electronic engineers who dealt with highly magnetic fields.
Nowadays we have a whole bunch of magnetic sources around us such as our mobile phones, laptops, magnetrons and so on, so owning an anti-magnetic watch can prove very beneficial.
The stainless-steel case consists of a front, screw back and a thin shield made of a certain composition of soft iron alloy that protects the movement from magnetic fields also known as a ‘dust cover’.
Doxa is not the most common Swiss brand, but this in no way abolishes the fact that this watch is a stunner.
